  1. GIFwatcher 2.2.0 contains the following changes from the 2.1.2 version:
  2.    * Now GIFwatcher really does work with America Online! If only previous
  3.      users had complained more! Some people did indeed complain that
  4.      GIFwatcher didn't work with AOL. I suggested that they try the "All
  5.      Files" option. This was my best guess for a fix, not having AOL myself to
  6.      experiment with at the time. NO ONE EVER TOLD ME THAT MY SUGGESTION
  7.      DIDN'T WORK! You people have got to stop being so polite. I need your
  8.      complaints. I don't think that I ever would have found out about the
  9.      real problem if I hadn't finally gotten my own AOL account.
  10.    * The new alternate method for reading in-progress downloads is automatic
  11.      for AOL, but it can be specifically invoked in case other communications
  12.      programs require it.
  13.    * Comments embedded within GIF89a files can now be viewed. Comments are
  14.      textual material that accompanies a GIF file, but is not rendered as part
  15.      of the image.
  16.    * GIF formats other than GIF87a and GIF89a will be tentatively recognized.

  18. GIFwatcher 2.1.2 contains the following changes from the 2.1.1 version:
  19.    * Added a feature that displays interlaced images by expanding the earliest
  20.      received scan lines into the gaps in between. Too bad there aren't many
  21.      interlaced images out there -- this is a fun feature.
  22.    * Made some interface changes.
  23.    * Recompiled with updated THINK C. Older version of THINK C had some
  24.      compiler bugs that could have potentially caused problems (though I
  25.      know of no specific examples).
  26.    * Fixed the documentation that had been mangled by Microsoft Word's flaky
  27.      conversion of Word files into MacWrite files. I just plain gave up on
  28.      using curly apostophes -- Word dutifully strips them from the MacWrite
  29.      versions of a file -- as well as other characters like bullets. You can
  30.      load the current file into Word just fine. Word seems to do its damage
  31.      when you save in MacWrite format.

  33. GIFwatcher 2.1.1 contains the following changes from the 2.1.0 version:
  34.    * Fixed a bug that could cause a crash when GIFwatcher auto-opened a GIF
  35.      file while running in the background.

  42.    * Can read GIF89a format.

  46.    * Fixed bug that caused a crash if the user quit GIFwatcher while in full-
  47.      display mode.
  48.    * Separate 68020 version no longer included (or needed).

  57.      the option key when selecting "Open GIF..." if you intend to use
  58.      the automatic-open feature.

  62.     * Added ability to Save PICT ID = 0 resource files (start-up screen
  63.       format).
  64.     * Added image color-inversion.
  65.     * Added preference choice for allowing menu bar to remain when using
  66.       full-display mode. This may help with the incompatibility some user's
  67.       have had using GIFwatcher with AOL.
  68.     * Fixed bug that causes crash when PICT saves were attempted on Macs
  69.       without Color Quickdraw.

  74.       displayed without user intervention. Just start the download and
  75.       and the image will appear.
  76.     * Enabled Cut/Copy under the edit menu to copy images to the clipboard.

  78.     * Fixed a bug related to using "Faster GIF Open..." on empty files.
